The Vegvisir (Icelandic Vegvísir, "That Which Shows the Way;" pronounced "VEGG-vee-seer") is a symbol found only in one modern Icelandic collection of spells, the so-called Huld manuscript. That book has nothing more than this one sentence to say about it: "If this sign is carried, one will never lose one's way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known."

Sporran Description:

The sporran's body from soft, pliable Kodiak leather that has been oil treated and treated with mink oil to protect it from the elements. The flap is heavy vegetable tanned leather dyed a nice contrasting tan. All images are hand carved and painted. The flap is double-loop laced on the edges with superior lacing -- not the rough kit-style lacing. The gusset and back belt slides are embossed with the following Runes: Teiwaz (Warrior spirit) Algiz (Protection).

An inside pocket out of oiled and soft black "chap" leather which is secured with a hand-cast pewter spiral. 2 antler beads secure the lace bottoms. This flap is also laced to provide a firm edge on the soft leather.

A "King's Pocket". This pocket allows you to leave the wallet at home. A place for license, credit cards, and even cash. I also have attached a clasp for your keys - no fishing around for them with this sporran. Finally, I have used a antler horn tip as a clasp. Attached to the kodiak lace, is a hand cast bronze Vegvisir bead.
