The Scottish Bollock Dirk or Bollack dagger was the precursor to the traditional dirk. With its distinctive handle, you can see where the dirk originally got its shape. The Victorian temporarily changed its name to kidney dagger. The modern term of bollocking is to give someone a sharp telling off to, this dirk is where that term came from. This was the preferred dirk in Scotland from about the beginning of the 13Th century well into the 18Th century. There are examples of this knife that were found on Culloden field. It was also the preferred dirk of The Border Reiver as a hardy and reliable weapon and tool. This version is 12" over all. Stainless steel sharpened blade which measures 7". Solid turned wood handle with steel cap. All leather sewn sheath with belt loop.
